Forearm to Wrist

Distal radius (wrist) fractures are the most common fracture sustained by the adult population. Most can be treated using cast immobilization without the need for surgery. Commonly fibreglass is used for cast immobilization, but Woodcast is a biodegradable casting material which could have benefits to patient comfort as well as the environment.
The aim of this study was to see whether it would be feasible to run a larger trial, comparing  fibreglass cast immobilization with Woodcast. Researchers measured how well the treatments worked, how safe they were, and how acceptable they were to patients.
